The idea behind Drake and Mortimer, is to be a collaborative effort for furthering the discussion and ideas that are developed on research trips, these will in turn help to form concrete arguments to be used in both our bodies of work. Whether used in a project together, which was the case in Kronos, or a back and forth conversation told through a series of archival books like Architour or Walk on Point. The Sojourn is a suggested journey, to expand on the ideas of movement and the mind working together to bring forth the creative spirit. Observing and reporting the elemental plane around us.
Tyson Skross, a painter of extraordinary talent,,,,, breakdown of him as an artist. And his strengths in this project. Mention Deathrock as part of this situation.
Cult of the Curious
Cult of the Curious was a t-shirt company started, to merge storyline and graphics in one fell swoop.
To do an illustration then build the story around it.
The basic premise was to do large bold graphics on tshirts. And with the bold graphics came a catchy sound bite. An over the top tale.
Not too many lines like a movie blurb(correct term) Let the imagination of the buyer fill in the gaps.
The shirts could lead to other stories, tied in to a new series of shirts. It gave the tshirt a narrative, like an issue of an comic book.
A mini-story to sell the shirt, to make you buy into the story. To collect them.
Printed on military surplus shirts finished the look. / materials.
The Adventures of Lightning Girl
The Adventures of Lightning Girl, original came from a short simple line drawn sketch called Lightning Boy. Asked by a publisher to develop this idea, I came up with a few storyboards to flesh out the character. No deal came from this but it was a still fun to have a bash at creating a more off-beat teen angst riddled superhero.
